Patient Hands is the solo-project of ambient musician & songwriter Alex Stooshinoff. A Russian
Doukhobor (‘spirit-wrestler’) from the Canadian Prairies, Stooshinoff relocated to Montréal in
2015, where he earned a degree in philosophy and electroacoustics. Stooshinoff self-released his
debut album "Stoic" in early 2019, with Japanese outlet Note.mu calling it a "...masterpiece.”
The record concerns a many year-long sickness, and the warp and weft of mystical experience
that ran through it.
An artist who values risk as a sign of true vulnerability, Stooshinoff writes honest, at times
confessional lyrics, and often appears nude in his visual output. Outside of music Stooshinoff is a
professional model, and something of an aspiring historian of philosophy. He has ambitions of
pursuing a PhD someday.
