A zero-sum game is a mathematical representation of a situation in which each participant's gain or loss is exactly balanced by the losses or gains of the other participants
A collaboration between the Birmingham based Patrick Lester-Rourke and Lee Griffiths, Zero Sum explores the sacrifice of those lost in the First World War through free improvisation, loops and electronics, to craft a varied and thought provoking album.
The album draws influence from the saxophonic inventiveness of Eric Dolphy and Paul Dunmall, as well as the groundbreaking electro-acoustic compositions of Karlheinz Stockhausen.
